LaMoure faces host team in Midwest Regional 
North Dakota Class B American Legion state baseball champion LaMoure will open the Division II Midwest Regional Tournament against host Milbank, S.D., at 8 p.m. on Thursday night.
Post 19, which has won two of the past three Class B titles, takes a 27-9 record into the tournament after going 4-1 last weekend in Beulah.

LaMoure’s Post 19 crowned state champs 
The LaMoure Legion Post 19 baseball team capped off a stellar 2009 season on the diamond by winning the state Class B Legion tournament in Beulah on Sunday.
LaMoure’s Ben Watkins pitched seven solid innings and went 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple and four RBIs, lifting Post 19 to an 11-2 victory over Enderlin in the championship game. Watkins was later named the tournament’s MVP.

LaMoure rallies late to beat Munich at state 
LaMoure rallied late to put themselves in prime position at the Class B American Legion state baseball tournament in Beulah.
Cole Gentzkow’s two-out, two-run triple capped a four-run top of the seventh as LaMoure overcame a 3-2 deficit to defeat Munich 6-3 in winner’s-bracket action Thursday night.

LaMoure hopes for another deep run 
The Class B American Legion baseball tournament hasn’t become old hat for LaMoure, more of a business trip.
Going four straight years and six out of seven will do that. So will playing in each of the past two championship games, including winning it all in 2007.

LaMoure headed back to state 
LaMoure capped off an unbeaten run through the Section 2 tournament and earned a return trip to state.
LaMoure outscored its opponents 27-4 over three games, including Sunday’s 7-4 win over Edgeley in the championship game, to advance to the state Class B American Legion tournament in Beulah on Wednesday. LaMoure will meet Crosby in the opening round at 2:30 p.m.

West Fargo ends Post 14’s season 
Jamestown fell just short in its pursuit of a state tournament berth.
Post 14 stayed alive with a victory over Grand Forks in their opening game on Friday. But the Wolfpack’s season came to an end in the late game, falling 24-11 to West Fargo in a state-qualifying game at the North Dakota Class A American Legion baseball qualifying tournament at Kraft Field.

Post 14 remains alive in tourney 
Post 14 is still alive in the hunt for a berth in the North Dakota Class A American Legion baseball tournament.
After a rough opening game on Thurday — Mandan scored 12 runs in the second inning and handed the Wolfpack its first loss of the tournament — Post 14 eliminated Wahpeton in Thursday’s late game in Grand Forks.

Post 14 beats Grand Forks in opener 
Jamestown Post 14 scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a 7-all tie and beat Grand Forks Wednesday night in the opening round of the American Legion qualifying tournament at Kraft Field.
A bases loaded walk to Jordan Piatz forced home Reid Monson with the go-ahead run and Levi Gaunska followed with a two-run single in the inning as 10th-seeded Post 14 surprised the host team Grand Forks, who had won here twice June 25.

Post 14 faces Royals first 
Jamestown Post 14 is the No. 10 seed for the North Dakota Class A American Legion qualifying tournament, which opens on Wednesday in Grand Forks.
The top five teams in the regular-season statewide standings (Dickinson, Williston, Fargo, Minot and Bismarck) earned automatic berths into the state tournament. They will play a seeding tournament in Minot, beginning on Thursday.

LaMoure Legion sweeps Enderlin 
LaMoure swept an American Legion baseball doubleheader at Enderlin on Thursday night.
A five-run third inning and a three-run seventh led to a 9-6 win in the opening game. In the second game, LaMoure scored three runs in the top of the first and held on.

Post 14 Legion baseball tournament opens today 
Jamestown Post 14 hosts Mandan today at 1 p.m. in the first game of their annual July Legion baseball tournament at Jack Brown Stadium.
The four-team tournament features three games on Friday and Saturday.
Mandan takes on Coon Rapids (Minn.) at 4 p.m. today followed by Post 14 taking on Saskatoon (Sask.) at 7 p.m.
