The teams that were supposed to win did at the Region 4 tournament in Devils Lake Monday night. Carrington, Munich-Starkweather, New Rockford-Sheyenne and North Star moved into the semifinals with relatively easy wins. Kidder Co. avoids tournament sweep
Dropping a pair of state tournament games by a combined 3 points was a bitter pill to swallow for the defending state champion Kidder County Pirates. High hopes were in turn exchanged for heartbreak following a 60-59 loss to Standing Rock in the first round of the state Class B girls’ basketball tournament Thursday, and falling 53-51 to Kenmare the following day was just salt in the wound.March 08, 2010
