The weatherman has said there’s a 40-percent chance of scattered thunderstorms today. But he also said it’s supposed to be 80 degrees.
It’s highly unlikely that both of those ingredients will happen at the same time, and after canceling the first two scheduled nights of the 2013 racing season, officials at Jamestown Speedway are crossing their fingers for the latter.

The driver for Joe Gibbs Racing spoke out Thursday, one day after his team was slapped with some of the harshest penalties in NASCAR history because his race-winning car at Kansas last week failed post-race inspection.
NASCAR has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to engines, tires and fuel on a race car. Anything even slightly improper is dealt with swiftly and severely. NASCAR always throws the book at offenders.
