ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast (AP) — A crowd stampeded after leaving a New Year's fireworks show early Tuesday in Ivory Coast's commercial center, killing 61 people — many of them youths — and injuring more than 200, rescue workers said.
No auroras around here last night though I suspect there would have been a green glow in the north were it not for moonlight. There’s still a chance for magnetic storms and potentially more auroras this evening through July 3. Take a minute to scan the northern sky before going to bed the next few nights just in case.
The reintroduction of New Year’s fireworks didn’t bring explosive trade, but retailers said it’s a beginning.

An eyewitness here says a Fourth of July fireworks accident decapitated the Fargo man Monday night.
Police identified the victim as Jesse William Burley, a 41-year-old father of two, who enjoyed life to its fullest, said Burley’s stepfather Chuck Asplin of Fargo.
