MINOT — Streaky has been the word for Jake Hanson’s offense this season.
“I’ve struggled some,” the Grafton junior said of his shooting. “It’s been kind of on and off. I didn’t have much for baskets tonight. But I hit free throws at the end.”
Hanson came up big down the stretch here Thursday. He scored the final eight points of a 16-4 run that clinched a 57-46 win against Linton-HMB in the quarterfinals of the North Dakota Class B boys high school basketball tournament.

DETROIT (AP) — Tom Brady was perfect on the field and his exit was first class.
Brady threw a season-high four touchdown passes, all in the second half, and the New England Patriots routed the Detroit Lions 45-24 on Thursday after trailing by 11 late in the second quarter.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears made their statement. Now, all they have to do is back it up.
They’re 2-0 for the first time since the 2006 Super Bowl season after an impressive 27-20 victory at Dallas on Sunday, with a Monday night matchup against Green Bay coming up.
FARGO — Nik Savageau capped the Lions All-Star Series with an All-Star play.
The Fargo North guard drained an 18-foot jumper with 4 seconds remaining to lift Class A to a 92-91 boys basketball victory against Class B on Wednesday at the Fargo Civic Center.

Area Class B athletes are the headliners of this year’s Lions All-Star basketball rosters.
The annual senior all-star games, pitting the best-of-the-best in Class A vs. their Class B counterparts, are scheduled for July 20 in Bismarck and July 21 in Fargo, with the girls’ games tipping off at 6 p.m. and the boys’ games to follow at 8 p.m.
While the Minnesota Vikings wait to hear if Brett Favre will return next season, their fans will have to wait at least another day to find out if they will take a quarterback of the future to eventually replace him.
Four hours into the draft on Thursday night, the Vikings traded the 30th overall pick in the first round to division rival Detroit, meaning their first pick of this draft will not come until Friday night.
The LaMoure Lions are sponsoring a road race to be held May 8. The race will start at 10:30 a.m. with registration up to 10 a.m. There are categories for the road race: Individual 5K Walk, 5K Run and 10K Run.
