GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A report by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops shows that the former diocese of the incoming Fargo bishop refused to take part in the group's annual sexual abuse audit in 2012.
The Healing Rooms of Jamestown, a nonprofit ministry focused on prayer for healing of physical, emotional and spiritual needs, as well as illnesses, are open from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 2717 U.S. Highway 281 SE in Jamestown.
Jack Kemp helped start a chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays at Duluth’s Pilgrim Congregational Church more than two decades ago. He was the pastor there and also helped usher in a likely first for the area, a lesbian minister.

We are responding to the May 10 article, “Church’s ‘open’ view draws interest” which speaks of congregations that are “open and affirming” of those who engage in same-sex behavior. Sadly, this article also implies that Christians who believe that same-sex behavior is sinful are not willing to welcome or love people who struggle with this sin.

There are 1,101 Open and Affirming churches in the United Church of Christ, according to Andy Lang, Cleveland, Ohio, executive director, UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns, United Church of Christ. A story on the religion page in Friday’s Sun reported the number as more than 300.
