STREETER, N.D. — There could be more deer than people in Streeter.
Residents estimate between 200 and 300 animals have taken shelter in the town now that deep snow and cold weather have made the open prairie less welcoming. That gives the deer an edge in a town with 159, residents, according to the 2005 census estimate.
Harvest Festival services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Streeter at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Rev. J. Dale Erbele, former conference superintendent of the Evangelical Church, will be preaching. Special music will be provided by Korissa Erbele Olson, voice performance graduate of Northwestern College.
Lawrence Bender, a Streeter, N.D., native, has been selected for the inclusion in the 2010 edition of “The Best Lawyers in America.” Bender’s specialties are energy law, natural resources law, and oil and gas law.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department warned area residents of a convicted high-risk sex offender living in Streeter, N.D., in a press release issued Tuesday.
The department said Christopher Michael Wilks, 36, is living at 122 Helen St. North, #6, in Streeter.
