JC and JHS students plan concert Saturday
Jamestown College and Jamestown High School students are among the 75 student musicians performing with the North Dakota Intercollegiate Band at a concert at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

Mural painting this weekend
The Arts Center is inviting the public to join Ave Maria Village residents in painting a 30-foot mural this weekend in the facility’s hallways.
Instructor William Hessian will be leading painters in the project from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ave Maria, 501 19th St. NE. The mural will feature the history and landmarks of North Dakota.

Art For Life program still going after 3 years
The Arts Center is always busy with things that often happen behind the scenes. During the past 3 years, the organization has been involved in the Art For Life project. Initially there was a lot of publicity about the program, which was funded by the North Dakota Council on the Arts and later the National Endowment for the Arts. But it quietly continues today with artists working each month with Jamestown’s Ave Maria Village residents.

Woiwode presenting at JC
Residents here tonight have a unique opportunity to witness some of the most celebrated poetry in the state in a non-conventional setting.
North Dakota Poet Laureate Larry Woiwode and Associate Poet Laureate Rick Watson will present “A Desert of Snow” at 7 tonight in the DeNault Auditorium in the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Jamestown College. There is no admission charge.

Gasal’s work on display
Benjamin Gasal is the artist of the month at Unison bank.
Gasal, a Jamestown native, began drawing at an early age, inspired by comic books and fantasy art. He said he enjoyed art classes where he was exposed to different concepts and techniques.

Arts Center renovation is moving along
The renovation of the Arts Center is moving along quickly as the building is starting to look completely different inside with walls now up.
The project that started last summer is now about 75 percent complete, said Taylor Barnes, Arts Center director. It is expected to be completed in April.
