Taz team competes at state folkstyle 
The Jamestown Taz wrestling team competed in the state folkstyle wrestling tournament March 30-31 at Bismarck, featuring over 750 total wrestlers. Weight classes had over 30 wrestlers each with the top six in each class placing. Thirteen of the 31 wrestlers Jamestown sent placed. State champions were, top photo, from left, Brandyn Harr, Eathan Gumke, Paxton Mewes, Noah Braun and Aden Braun. Bottom, other place-winners from Jamestown were, from left, Ian Ford (4th), Colton Mewes (3rd), Dawson Denning (6th), Brand Fields (4th), Ethan Bowman (3rd), Louis Kjellberg-Jones (4th).

4th-graders claim GF title

The Jamestown fourth-grade boys’ basketball team placed first at the 19-team Grand Am Tournament in Grand Forks. They opened with wins over Bemidji and Thompson, before edging the Fargo Heat 34-32 in the semifinals. They took down the Mandan Vipers 27-16 in the championship game, which was played at Betty Engelstad Arena. Youth bowlers shine
Team of 4, consisting of Jamestown youth bowlers, back row, from left, Patrick Kinzler and Brandon Thrift, and front row, from left, Joey Gebhardt and Jorgan Mohr, placed first in the Class A Division of the West Region tournament held in Mandan Jan. 15-29 with a score of 2713 pins. In the Class D Division, Rockin Thunder, back row, from left, Erik Busche, Kyle Mosolf, front row, from left, Bryan Mosolf and Noah Burright, placed third with a score of 2545. In doubles competition, Mohr and Gebhardt placed first in Class A with a score of 1427. Kinzler and Thrift were fifth (1401). Gebhardt took first-place honors in Class AA with a score of 797. Kinzler won Class A with a total of 818. Thrift was third in Class B (705), while Bryan Mosolf was sixth in the Class C (664). In Class D, Busche was third (682) and Burright fourth (671).

The Jamestown Blue Jay fourth-grade boys’ basketball team finished first at the Jamestown Basketball Club Spring Shootout. Jamestown went 3-0 with wins over the West Fargo Heat, Aberdeen Eagles and the Mandan Jets. The Blue Jays downed the Heat 37-31, the Eagles 24-15 and the Jets 33-11.
