The Ralph Engelstad Arena wants to know what its season ticketholders think about fans’ behavior.
Officials at the University of North Dakota arena say they sent an e-mail to about 6,800 season ticketholders and 1,200 student season ticketholders. They were asked to comment on whether hockey fans are too rowdy.
General Manager Jody Hodgson said 99.9 percent of the fans are respectful and enthusiastic.
The foundation that owns Fargo’s Urban Plains Center is seeking a federal disaster loan to help pay bills tied to the Under-18 World Championship hockey tournament held during the height of spring flooding.
The Ralph Engelstad Arena, home to University of North Dakota hockey, is suing a Canadian company that installed its hockey rinks and ice-making equipment, seeking more than $2 million to replace the concrete slabs and pipe systems in both its rinks.
The Jamestown Youth Hockey Association offered to pay for ceiling and light renovations at Eagles Hockey Arena at the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission meeting Thursday.
Mike Soulis, a director for the Hockey Association, said the group would pay for the renovations if the commission was willing to allow its employees to help tear out the arena’s old dasher boards and help install the new ones.
