Beaver Creek now open to camping
Beaver Creek Campground, west of Linton, N.D., is now on the National Reservation Recreation System, www.recreation. gov. There are sites that can be booked six months in advance as well as first-come-first-served camp sites in the campground. The cost of the standard electrical sites is $14 per night and standard non-electrical sites are $10 per night.April 07, 2010

A meeting of the Roaming Buffalo camping club was held Feb. 21 at the Otter Tail community room. Dan and Jen Kapp presided. Committee reports were given. Conservation and Wildlife Director Howard Oppegard told of the contests held at the national level. They are the conservation poster, essay or photo contest. The Roaming Buffalo Camping Club met at the Otter Tail Community Room on Oct. 18. Reports were given. The members will be delivering Meals on Wheels on Saturdays and Sundays in November. Roaming Buffalo holds last campout
Leonard and Cindy Willey were hosts for the Roaming Buffalo Camping Club’s September meeting and for the last campout on Oct. 2-4. A fall cleanup of the Lakeside campground will be attempted. The group will sell handles for water/pop bottles as a fundraiser for Relay for Life, members will deliver Meals on Wheels the Saturday and Sunday in November and will ring the bells for the Salvation Army, a date to be decided yet.October 13, 2009
State parks still offer camping
While summer may have come to a close, North Dakota’s state parks remain open with camping opportunities available. Most state parks with year-round staffing offer full camping services, including electrical hookups, campground water, hot showers and camping cabins through September. Selected parks provide electrical hookups throughout the year. Most state park campgrounds will discontinue campsite water service by the end of September and at some, comfort stations and waste stations will be closed. In the event of freeze warnings, water lines may be shut off earlier.September 23, 2009

Fort Lincoln State Park reopened
Camp sites at Fort Lincoln State Park south of Mandan are open but flood cleanup work continues. Late-March flooding caused by river ice jams hit the park hard. Park officials say some camp sites could be without electricity, restrooms and trailer dump stations through Memorial Day.May 16, 2009
