Four JHS students to perform in choir
Four Jamestown High School Choir students were selected to participate in the Regional American Choral Directors Association Honor Choirs which will perform in Minneapolis on March 4 and March 6.

‘Evening With ...’ features JHS
An “Evening With Jamestown High School Music” kicks off the first performance of the season for the 15-year series that spotlights local musical talent.
The performance, which features vocal and instrumental music by JHS students, is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Arts Center. Bruce Berg, Jamestown Performing Arts director, said he’s happy to start out with the “talented musicians” at Jamestown High School. “The Evening With …” performance will spotlight the JHS Show Choir and Vocal Jazz group as well as percussion pieces and a string bass solo. Vocal groups include a freshman ladies ensemble and a senior duet.

Basilica choir presents cantata Saturday
The St. James Basilica Choir is presenting “The Winter Rose” cantata by Joseph M. Martin at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. James Basilica.
“The Winter Rose” is set around the familiar melody of Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming and the symbolism of the rose — as it first appears in the Garden to the thorns on Jesus’ crown. It is a story told in song and instrumental music. Within the hour-long performance, readings will intersperse songs and the music of chimes, piano, drums and flute.
