Medical class receives funds
The Jamestown Community Foundation donated $500 to the training skills class which enabled class officials to purchase two wheelchairs and two overbed tables. The class, developed by the Medical Leaders Roundtable, and formed from the JSDC Strategic Plan/Training Center Committee, is co-chaired by Dave Smette and Lisa Hicks. The group developed this 18-hour curriculum which is open to anyone 16 years of age or older interested in becoming a certified nurse’s assistant. The class teaches the basic, hands-on skills needed to challenge that part of the certified nursing assistant test.March 17, 2010

Nurse’s assistant class planned at JRVTC
The Jamestown Community Education program has included a Nurse’s Assistant Skills Training class as part of its curriculum for the winter session. The class teaches the basic hands-on skills needed to challenge that part of the Certified Nursing Assistant test. Some independent study is required to pass the written portion of the test. All materials needed to study for the test are available at the Center and are offered through the class.January 13, 2010
