County approves reports on four grade raises for roads
The Stutsman County Commission approved engineering reports on four grade raises necessary due to last year’s flooding at its regular meeting Tuesday. The approval moves the projects forward with bids to be awarded by the North Dakota Department of Transportation in May. The roads are south of Halfway Lake on County Road 68, two separate grade raises on County Road 67 south of Cleveland and a grade raise one mile west of County Road 67 on County Road 38.By Keith Norman , April 21, 2010

The Cass County Commission and Fargo City Commission have decided that a vote on a half-percent sales tax to help pay for permanent flood protection for Fargo-Moorhead can wait until November. The Stutsman County Commission approved the final wording for its tax increase request slated for the June primary ballot during its regular meeting Tuesday. Subcommittee talks on rural house setbacks
A subcommittee of the Jamestown Planning Commission met with representatives of Homer, Woodbury, Midway and Bloom townships Monday night. The group was called together to discuss issues related to the 1-mile extraterritorial zoning authority exercised by Jamestown. State law gives the city authority to control zoning, plats, building permits and plumbing permits within 1 mile of city limits. Stutsman County Commission votes to recycle Old Highway 10
The Stutsman County Commission authorized the recycling of two portions of old Highway 10 east of Jamestown from pavement into gravel during its regular meeting Tuesday. The motion, made by Commissioner Doug Kaiser, passed on a four-to-one vote with Commissioner Dale Marks dissenting. “That is the road costing us the most money,” Kaiser said after the meeting. “We need to get that road done and save the cost of patching on it this year.”By Keith Norman , March 03, 2010
