Pac-10 gobbles up CU
College athletics are on the verge of a monumental shift, a realignment that could disintegrate one conference, turn others into 16-school goliaths and have huge financial implications on some of the biggest programs in the country. The first card flipped on Thursday, when Colorado ditched the Big 12 for the Pac-10. Next up are Nebraska and Missouri, both facing decisions that could spark another exodus and the collapse of the Big 12.June 11, 2010
UND on Big Sky’s radar?
The conference movement that is shaking NCAA Division I athletics like a massive earthquake has the Big Sky Conference on alert. On Thursday, the University of North Dakota and Southern Utah were both on the league’s radar. To what extent is not certain, but Big Sky commissioner Doug Fullerton said UND could be an option if the University of Montana, the most likely candidate to move its football program up a level, leaves. The popular theory has the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Western Athletic Conference making a push for Football Championship Subdivision schools like Montana.By By Jeff Kolpack, Forum Communications Co. , June 11, 2010
Jimmies set for DAC track
The weather figures to be rotten today in Rapid City for the Dakota Athletic Conference meet. If the Jimmie women can get a similar performance to what they did at the outdoor meet in February, they won’t really care what Mother Nature brings. The Jimmies piled 206.5 points to win the DAC indoor title a month-and-a-half ago in Spearfish, S.D. The field will be deeper and the conditions significantly worse in Rapid City, but coach Jim Clark expects a game effort from his team.May 07, 2010

Jim Clark has been the women’s track and field coach at Jamestown College for more than three decades, so when he says things like “most rewarding” and “a season I will cherish” about his current team, that’s a pretty good indication of the kind of indoor season it has been.
