Bambas preaching Sunday at St. Paul’s
The Rev. David Bambas will be preaching his first sermon at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on Sunday. He will be preaching at the 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services. Bambas and his wife, Carla, are arriving in Jamestown this week from Elk Point, S.D., to accept this new assignment. A noon potluck to welcome the Bambas will be held on July 25. St. Paul’s United Methodist Women reported that Love Ribbons were given to the women of the church for Mother’s Day. Betty Brosz, Julie Wayne, Lavina Kleese, Bonnie Ostenson, and Delette Winkelman attended UMW Assembly in St. Louis, Mo., recently. Many of the United Methodist Women are helping to deliver “Meals on Wheels” on the weekends of June, especially on June 27. Many of UMW are helping with Bible school this week.June 11, 2010
Medina church to mark anniversary
Emmanuel United Methodist Church will celebrate its 75th anniversary June 13. It will begin the celebration with former Medina pastor, the Rev. Kenneth Oswald, preaching at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The congregation invites the community and area church families to join in this celebration. The theme for the day is “Rejoice in the Lord!” There will also be a noon meal and a singalong, DVD presentation and refreshment at 1:30 p.m.May 28, 2010

St. Paul’s United Methodist Women has several events of notice this month. There are focus meetings at Marion on April 10 or April 17 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, for area United Methodist Women. Registration and refreshments are at 8:30 a.m. Register at the Jamestown church office. On Wednesday, Mary Werner will tell her faith story at the church. The group will meet monthly to provide an opportunity for parents to come together for mutual support and affirmation.
