Watford City and Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter top the first North Dakota Class A and 9-man football polls released this week by The Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
The Class A Watford City Wolves received six first-place votes and are currently 10 points ahead of last year’s repeat Class A champion Harvey, who sits second after receiving one first-place vote. The Class A top five is rounded out by Hazen, Velva and North Prairie, respectively.
The pairings have been set for the 2008 North Dakota high school 9-man football playoffs. The 9-man regular season wrapped up on Thursday, and playoff games are slated to kickoff around the state on Tuesday.
