U.S. skier injured in escalator fall
.S. Alpine skier Cody Marshall has a head injury after falling about 20 feet while sliding from an escalator railing. Police say the 26-year-old was out with teammates when he fell off the escalator rail around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in a mini-mall on Park City’s Main Street. He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Salt Lake City, where he was listed in critical condition Thursday afternoon.July 17, 2009

Phoenix suspends Taurasi after DUI arrest
The Phoenix Mercury have suspended guard Diana Taurasi for two games without pay after she was cited on drunk-driving related charges.
