35th annual tournament kicks off Saturday
Nearly 80 2-person teams will be in Jamestown this weekend to compete for a $1,650 top prize at the 35th Annual Dakota Anglers Walleye-Northern Fishing Tournament. The tournament is open to the first 76 teams that enter. Cost is $150 and all entrants must be Dakota Anglers members, which costs $15 for a family membership.May 20, 2011

Jack Brown Stadium has always been a welcoming venue for amateur baseball teams, which is not the case in every town. Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants manager Bryan Erstad, who lives in Fargo, says coming back home to play is always enjoyable and fairly stress free. “It’s a great setup in Jamestown with the access we’re given to the ballpark,” he said. “Fargo ballparks charge an arm and a leg just to use the fields and there’s a lot more competition. With significant snow bearing down on Dickinson, the Dakota Athletic Conference athletic directors decided to move the DAC baseball tournament somewhere else. Or more like somewhere(s) else.
