Tourism impact growing in Jamestown area
Tourism in Jamestown is having a banner year, both in numbers of visitors and in tax revenue. Nina Sneider, executive director of the Buffalo City Tourism Foundation, and Pam Phillips, board president, presented the foundation’s annual report Wednesday to the joint meeting of the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp., city and county. In it, Sneider said the increase in visitors so far this year is 4.2 percent. With more than two months to go, visitors to Frontier Village and the National Buffalo Museum numbered 5,000 more than last year.October 22, 2009
