Committees deal with deer and snow removal
The City Council’s Public Works Committee agreed Thursday to make a one-time payment to defray 2010 snow removal costs on Country Club Road and the Police and Fire Committee agreed to look for ways to rid Jamestown of encroaching deer. Taxable sales up in Jamestown
If taxable sales and purchases are any indication, Jamestown appears to be economically sound on almost all fronts, says North Dakota’s top ranking tax official. The first quarter of 2010 compared to 2009 shows an 8.54 percent increase for the Buffalo City in 10 reportable categories. City orders water study
The City Council’s Public Works Committee Thursday voted unanimously to get a city-wide water system study moving quickly that concentrates first on potential development in the area near the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. City Engineer Reed Schwartzkopf told the committee the estimated $140,000 study was originally planned for the 2011 budget year. However, after discussions he had with Fire Chief Jim Reuther and the city’s Utilities Operations Director Steve Suko, they agreed the study should be moved to this fall.July 23, 2010
City crews working on dike removal
