The annual Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner provides a place for everyone — young and old, students and professionals, families and single people — to come and break bread with others.
A community Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey and all the trimmings is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Church.
The meal is free and no donations are required, organizers said.
Rides and to-go meals will be available.

What’s a serving?
The Easy Street Seven, a popular Valley City area band comprised of Valley City State University alums, will share the stage with The VCSU Jazz Ensemble at a dinner-dance to be held at the Eagles Club, Friday, Oct. 17, 2008. The two bands will perform popular dance classics from the 1940s to the present day. All proceeds from the events will be used to fund music scholarships at VCSU.
The Jamestown community is planning to serve an appreciation dinner to the members of the 817th Engineer Company (Sapper) in recognition for their service in Iraq. The fundraising effort for the event is being spearheaded by Mayor Clarice Liechty.
The Valley City State University Friends of Music will have their second annual dinner-dance Oct 17, at the Valley City Eagles Club. The evening starts with a dinner of steak bordelaise, followed by the big-band sounds of campus and community jazz bands and community singers.
