There was no holiday hangover for the JHS gymnasts.
The Blue Jays hung a season-best 140.975 team score on the board to finish an impressive second in a 4-team meet of West Region heavyweights at the Jamestown Gymnastics Club on Friday.

Blue Jays win Tri-State meet
The Blue Jay gymnasts head into the holidays on a high, and with a win.
Jamestown High School had five of the best six all around scores and won every event to handily win the December Invite on Tuesday night.
The Blue Jays approached 140 with ace junior Alex Lind competing, and winning, one event.

Blue Jays wins Christmas Meet
The team score is heading in the right direction for the Blue Jay gymnastics team.
Jamestown High School posted its season best score of 138.150 on Friday, doing so in the first home outing of the season.
“I was pretty happy really with what they did,” said coach Dave Tews. “The (138.15) is better than the 137 we got the week before last — we got a couple gifts in that one.”

Time to tumble: Hopes high again for Blue Jays
Realistically, the Jamestown High School gymnastics team probably can’t do much better than they did last season.
That’s not a knock, either, considering the Blue Jays finished third at the state meet held here.

Five JHS athletes named all-state
Three Jamestown gymnasts have been named to the all-state team, while both Blue Jay hockey teams had one player receive all-state accolades.
Alex Lind was the lone Blue Jay named to the first-team after leading Jamestown to a third-place finish at the state team meet — their best ever team finish at the state meet.
