New season set: JC opens indoor season today at NDSU
The Jamestown College women’s track and field team has a tough act to follow as they open a new season today — themselves.
The Jimmies are the defending Dakota Athletic Conference champions, and return several key contributors from that team.
There’s a month and four meets between the indoor championships in Spearfish, S.D., but coach Jim Clark says there’s a lot of work to do between now and then.

Jimmies knock off ranked VCSU
After narrowly missing a win against a ranked team on the road Saturday, the Jimmie women got it done at home Thursday.
Jamestown College stayed right in the thick of a the Dakota Athletic Conference race by finishing strong down the stretch to beat rival Valley City State, ranked 24th in the NAIA, 75-67 at the Civic Center.

A winning cause: Inspired Jimmies sweep Vikings
The return home was a successful one all the way around for the Jamestown College basketball teams.
Playing at the Civic Center for the first time in 27 days, the Jimmies swept Valley City State — capped by the men’s 86-76 victory — and helped paralyzed football and track and field athlete James Vollmer with a free-will offering.

Jimmies sweep Mines
Stop 1 of the long South Dakota trip was a winner for the Jimmies.
The JC women overcame a slow start to hold off South Dakota Mines with a big second half, while the Jimmie men torched the Hardrockers early and controlled all 40 minutes.
The tougher half of the trip is tonight in Spearfish against Black Hills State — both Yellow Jackets teams are ranked in the top 10.

Jimmies face steep conference road tests
Preseason pub can be a tricky thing, but so far the Jamestown College men’s basketball team has met the high expectations many had for them.
First-year coach Matt Murken has blended a handful of new players with a solid returning core and has resulted in 12 wins in 16 games as Dakota Athletic Conference play starts for real this weekend in South Dakota.
