LaMoure County residents who experienced damage to their homes because of spring flooding need to fill out a Home Damage Assessment form and return it to the La-Moure County Department of Emergency Services by noon Tuesday if possible. This includes damage that resulted from flooding of rivers or streams, overland flooding, or seepage of water or sewer in basements.April 02, 2010
Recreation areas without power
Lake LaMoure recreation areas will remain without power through the weekend, according to the LaMoure County Department of Emergency Services. The lake level is still too high for crews to isolate flooded electrical equipment. This means that power cannot yet be restored, even to unaffected lake lots. If power is needed for cleanup, portable generators will need to be used for now.April 01, 2010

LaMoure spillway deemed stable
The emergency spillway at Lake LaMoure has been deemed stable by the North Dakota State Water Commission representatives on site, said Sheri Gartner, director of emergency services for LaMoure County. Flows over the emergency spillway have gone down considerably over the last few days, she said. Total flows going out of the lake now exceed the flows coming into the lake, which means the lake level should be dropping steadily over the next few days. The area around the emergency spillway remains closed to the general public for safety and security reasons.March 29, 2010

Water continues to overflow the emergency spillway at Lake LaMoure, according to Sheri Gartner, emergency manager for LaMoure County. Gartner said the overflow condition was expected to continue for several days and had prompted local officials to place concrete mats over the spillway to prevent erosion of the dam.By Keith Norman , March 24, 2010

LaMoure gets to work as river approaches a crest
The James River could crest in LaMoure, N.D., within a week, according to the Army Corps of Engineers. The National Weather Service predicted a crest of 16.7 feet at a LaMoure County public meeting Monday. The 16.7 feet prediction is just above the level of the city’s first crest in late March of last year. The crest was a record-setting one, which was later surpassed by the city’s second peak in mid-April, 2009, at 17.56 feet, said Sheri Gartner, LaMoure County director of emergency services.March 17, 2010
