Another near miss: Trenton edges Loboes for third
MINOT — The perimeter shooting of Trenten Hove kept LaMoure-Litchville-Marion from taking third place at the Class B state tournament on Saturday.
The senior point guard from Trenton hit four 3-pointers to make up Trenton’s final 12 points including the dagger with 18 seconds to go in a 43-42 victory.

Trayvon McKay played the final six minutes and 31 seconds with four fouls. He not only avoided a fifth foul, but drew one that helped advance Four Winds-Minnewaukan into the semifinals of the North Dakota Class B boys high school basketball tournament.

Loboes pull stunner at state ‘B’
Despite his team being incredibly undersized, LaMoure-Litchville-Marion coach Darren Thielges refused to play zone against Dickinson Trinity in the opening round of the Class B state tournament.
“I talked to coaches and they said, ‘You’re gonna have to zone them,’” Thielges said. “I thought about and we talked about it, and I said, ‘That’s not who we are. We’re a man-to-mean team.’”

Dickinson Trinity’s starting five looks like this: 6-foot, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, 6-7.
LaMoure-Litchville-Marion’s on the other hand: 5-8, 5-10, 5-11, 5-11, 5-11.
“It’s almost like they’re some of the bigger teams we’ve played on steroids,” LaMoure-L-M boys basketball coach Darren Thielges joked.
