Friebel speaks on recycling at Kiwanis
Ralph Friebel from Renaissance Recycling was the guest speaker at the July 20 noon Kiwanis meeting. Friebel moved back to Jamestown about six years ago and became involved in the recycling business about a year ago in the area of electronic recycling. Electronic recycling was started primarily for the purpose of keeping electronics out of the landfill. Friebel said computer equipment components are separated for appropriate recycling. Some of the materials require a fee for disposal.July 28, 2009

Lions to collect used eyeglasses
The Jamestown Lions Club will be collecting old eyeglasses through mid-May at many local sites. Adult and especially children’s eyeglasses are needed. Prescription and nonprescription glasses and sunglasses are gathered and sent to one of 17 centers worldwide.
