Bruce Henke, publisher of The Jamestown Sun, shared with Rotarians the various changes that have taken place with newspapers. He said community newspapers have not faced quite the same circumstances and issues that the metro papers have faced. The Internet has changed the scene and, as people would say, the face of the newspaper business. The Jamestown Sun is owned by Forum Communications Co., which is a family-owned business, and Henke affirmed his appreciation for the company’s forethought, entrepreneurism and investment in papers like The Jamestown Sun. It also owns newspapers in Dickinson, Fargo and Grand Forks.
A birthday notice on page A8 in Wednesday’s Sun for Art Henke gave the wrong date for his birthday celebration. The open house will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 16 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
The guest speaker at the Dec. 8 Kiwanis meeting was Kali Henke, SART Program coordinator.
