Bob and Frieda Whitney, Ypsilanti, N.D., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. July 15 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown. No gifts requested.
They were married July 30, 1961.
Merle and Joyce Michaelson, Wimbledon, N.D., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. June 16 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wimbledon. The event will be hosted by their children.
Selmer and Phyllis Spitzer, Dawson, N.D., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 5, at Valley Presbyterian Church in Mesquite, Nev. The event will be hosted by their children. No gifts requested.
Thursday in Woodworth was a day of preparation that involved pretty much everyone in town. After all, the town’s centennial kicks off on Friday evening.
“We’re already frying chicken,” said Candyce Wick, member of the centennial steering committee. “The church usually has a fall chicken supper but we are holding this one special for the centennial.”
The chicken supper starts at 5 p.m. Friday and is sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodworth.
