The Fuller Center for Housing is seeking volunteers for its Global Builders program in Armenia to assist those who still struggle from the devastating 1988 earthquake and strive to establish a free economy.
Volunteers will join a two-week Global Builders team and work with Armenian families to construct decent housing. They will also be able to travel and see historic sites in Armenia.
Turkish-Armenian ties began to improve after a so-called soccer diplomacy campaign last year, when Turkish President Abdullah Gul attended a World Cup qualifier in Armenia.
Sarkisian in the past has said he wants progress on the reopening of the border before he agrees to attend an Oct. 14 match in Turkey — about six weeks away.
