Bismarck Century repeatedly tried to feed standout Hannah Larson late against Jamestown on Tuesday night.
But the No. 1-ranked Patriots struggled with their entry passes thanks to a Jamestown team that used stifling defense en route to 47-46 West Region victory at the JHS gym. It was Century's first loss to a North Dakota team this season.

The Brooklyn Nets have elevated expectations this season, and a .500 record wasn’t good enough. Coach Avery Johnson was fired Thursday, his team having lost 10 of 13 games after a strong start to its first season in Brooklyn.
Carmelo Anthony scored 22 of his 30 points in the first quarter, and the New York Knicks held on after he departed with a sprained left ankle to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 116-107 on Thursday night in coach Mike D’Antoni’s return to Madison Square Garden.
Joe Coleman scored 16 points, Rodney Williams added 14 and No. 21 Minnesota beat defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion Florida State 77-68 on Tuesday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
A 6-foot-4 sophomore guard, Coleman made 8 of 13 field goals and had 12 points in the second half while helping the Gophers build a 58-37 lead midway through.
Evan Turner made the go-ahead layup with 40.4 seconds left and Philadelphia held off Boston the rest of the way with six straight free throws as the 76ers evened the second-round Eastern Conference series with an 82-81 victory Monday night.
