ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The NCAA is "ludicrous and hypocritical" for moving five championship games out of New Jersey next year because the state plans to offer legalized sports betting, a spokesman for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said.

The NCAA approved a policy Thursday that would ban states, such as Delaware, from hosting championship events if they allow fans to bet on single games.

The House on Wednesday approved an overhaul of the state’s regulation of horse racing and pari-mutuel betting after a raucous debate in which one lawmaker said those regulating the industry now don’t “know what end of the horse the hay goes into.”
The debate and vote were on Senate Bill 2024, which passed 70-21 and is surely destined for conference committee negotiations, said those who authored it.
