Dakota College at Bottineau is trying to raise up to $35,000 for a grant writer to aid in the redevelopment of Old Main.
Campus Dean Ken Grosz said he hopes a grant writer could obtain three or four grants that could be used for the effort to find a new purpose for the building.
A Bottineau man convicted of child sex crimes has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim said the 15 years is a mandatory minimum sentence. Thirty-four-year-old Darren Henry will be on supervised release for five years following the prison term.
