MILWAUKEE (AP) — The more Ryan Braun traveled to various cities during his time in the majors, the more he recognized just how much he loved Milwaukee.
Braun signed a $105 million, five-year contract extension on Thursday that adds to a seven-year deal he signed in May 2008, meaning the Brewers are now committed to pay the young slugger $145.5 million through 2020.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Brewers announcer Bob Uecker needs surgery on his heart again after a tear was discovered at the site of his valve replacement.
The team says Uecker will have the surgery on Tuesday that will be performed by the same doctors who did his initial procedure on April 30.
A Wisconsin appeals court on Wednesday rejected a defamation lawsuit filed against the Milwaukee Brewers and the team’s radio announcer Bob Uecker.
The District 2 Court of Appeals dismissed the lawsuit filed by Ann Ladd of Prospect Heights, Ill., who claims she has been unfairly portrayed as Uecker’s stalker. In so doing, the court adopted a new legal standard in Wisconsin that will limit lawsuits over allegedly defamatory communications.

The Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants defeated the Moorhead Brewers on Wednesday in amateur baseball action.
