Under orders to trim hundreds of millions of dollars from its budget, the Federal Aviation Administration on Friday released a final list of 149 air traffic control towers that it will close at small airports around the country starting early next month.
The Country Club Road in Jamestown will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today from 17th Street Southeast to Butler Equipment. The closure is due to construction work on the Red River Valley and Western Bridge, according to the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
PHILADELPHIA — Even as financially strapped Catholic schools continue to close across the country, no one in Philadelphia ever thought the church would shutter Cardinal Dougherty High School.
Not the flagship campus that once boasted 6,000 students and billed itself as the biggest Catholic school in the world. Not the school whose marching band once played for a pope, a princess and a presidential inauguration.

Movie Gallery in Jamestown will be going out of business.
The closing is being carried out as part of the restructuring and chapter 11 bankruptcy organizing filing the company completed on Feb. 2, according to the company’s Web site.
Signs announcing the coming closing and sale of inventory were hanging in the windows this weekend. Store manager Michelle Hehr said she could not comment to news media on the closing.
The Rocky Mountain News, Colorado’s oldest newspaper and a Denver fixture since 1859, will publish its last edition Friday.
Owner E.W. Scripps Co. said Thursday the newspaper lost $16 million last year and the company was unable to find a buyer.
Burleigh County officials are planning to close more than 10 miles of township roads for the winter.
County road supervisor Rodney Ness said drifting has been a problem with all the heavy snow in the area. He said 61.5 inches has fallen so far this winter.
With the closing of 4 R’s Recycling Center, some Jamestown residents are seeking alternative means to recycle leftover and waste materials.
4 R’s, which is run by Helen and Gary Rosenau, Carrington, N.D., closed earlier this month because the value of recyclable materials decreased, it’s rent increased and because the center is behind on sorting.
