There are 1,101 Open and Affirming churches in the United Church of Christ, according to Andy Lang, Cleveland, Ohio, executive director, UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns, United Church of Christ. A story on the religion page in Friday’s Sun reported the number as more than 300.
The name of actor Chris Hoke, who portrays Jesus in the upcoming “Passion Play” at Temple Baptist Church, was incorrectly spelled in “‘Passion Play’ tells Easter story” and in a photo caption on page A8 in Friday’s Sun.

The Jamestown Fire Department responded to the fatal wreck Wednesday in west Jamestown.
Dr. Rick Walentine and Jamie Namminga are not performing a recital Saturday at Jamestown College. The recital was last week. The two will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at Valley City State University
