Red Cross program provides shelter during emergencies
Myra Olson was at a doctor’s appointment on Oct. 24, 2012, when her family’s home near Mandan, N.D., caught fire and burned to the ground.
The American Red Cross was there to help meet their most immediate need, shelter. A hotel in Bismarck had a room set aside for the family to use that night through the Rooms for Red Cross program.

Congress approves Sandy flood aid

JHS students practice for emergency
In the event of an emergency, 115 Jamestown High School freshmen are now prepared to take response measures after participating in Thursday’s Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) disaster drill exercise.
The exercise marked the culmination of nearly two months of Teen CERT training for these students in conjunction with the health classes offered at JHS.
