Eventide residents’ work on display

Eventide at Hi-Acres will display the artwork of several resident artists during the month of June at Unison Bank. This display includes art work from earlier years and also the artwork of residents who continue to create items while at Eventide. The display includes oil paintings by Beatrice Fogderud and Margaret Weatherly, poetry and pencil drawing of Rupert “Doc” Schultz, crocheted doilies made by Frances Rude and Floreana Nicoletti, and a quilt created by Alice Neumiller. Every month Unison Bank displays the artwork of a different person or group.

Hust quilts on display at Unison
The February artist at Unison Bank is Emma Hust. Her art is in her baby quilts.
Emma Hust was born Emma Reiser, the youngest child of Polish immigrants, Ludwig and Amelia Reiser. Her first job was working for the Vita Bakery at the age of 15. After four years at the bakery, she got a job at the Red Owl Grocery Store and worked there for l0 years.

Nun’s relics on display
Fran Fjelde of Fargo referred to Mother Teresa of Calcutta as “my hero.”
The Nobel Prize-winning Catholic nun’s work among the needy inspired Fjelde and her husband to adopt a child from India.
That daughter, 16-year-old Valli Fjelde, was at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Fargo with Fjelde on Tuesday as the two viewed relics of the late Mother Teresa.

Hilltop artwork on display
The artwork on display at Unison Bank for the month of July is provided by the children of Hilltop Learning Center. Their work was specifically created in art projects for the exhibit.
Currently, Hilltop serves about 25 children, ranging from 6 weeks old through school age. Many of the pieces displayed were created through Hilltop’s School Age Summer Program. Between attending community activities, volunteering, and summer school, the children have been working hard to create this art.
