Fargodome goes with New Era

Concertgoers will soon have to get used to a new name when buying tickets for events at the Fargodome. The Fargodome Authority unanimously voted Tuesday to begin contract negotiations with New Era Tickets instead of renewing another five-year agreement with Ticketmaster, the dome’s agent since the facility opened in 1992.

Fargodome announces Strait, McEntire show

The Fargodome has officially announced the Oct. 22 return of country superstars George Strait and Reba McEntire. Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik said the facility was holding the date when the show was listed on touring industry website www.pollstar.com and the Country Music Television website in early June.

Fargodome’s finances will rebound in March

The Fargodome’s finances were less robust than expected through the end of February, but should show a healthy rebound thanks to March’s Bon Jovi concert and other events in coming weeks, an official said. Fargodome figures put February’s net income at $146,139. It was budgeted to be $247,760. That left the dome $101,621 behind its budget goals for that month alone.

A tribute to the talented stars of the 1960s known as “The Rat Pack” will play in Fargo at the Gate City Bank Theatre Fargodome at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16. Fargodome in Black

The Fargodome ended 2009 in the black, posting net income of $112,997, nearly $32,000 more than had been budgeted. Fargo Dome Authority President David Suppes said the results were impressive, given the tough economy and losses tied to last spring’s flood fight. “We’re pleased with the results,” Suppes said Wednesday after a dome finance committee meeting.
