The 18th Annual Jamestown Kite Festival is from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Meidinger Park in southwest Jamestown.
The Prairie Places Festival, a public celebration of the heritage resources of North Dakota, gets under way at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, in Wishek, N.D., at the Wishek Civic Center. While celebrating all of North Dakota, the Prairie Places Festival will focus particularly on the heritage landscape of south-central North Dakota’s German-Russian Country — Emmons, Logan, and McIntosh counties.

The Jamestown United Presbyterian Church is combining with the Presbyterian churches in Edgelely, Ellendale, LaMoure, Lisbon and Oakes to present a Festival of Music at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Presbyterian/United Methodist Church in Ellendale.
It’s nearly fall and that means the second largest city in Stutsman County will experience a temporary population boom with its annual fall festival. The Medina Fall Festival kicks off today and runs through Sunday.
“It’s a long tradition with the community and it is a harvest celebration,” said Karl Limvere, member of the Fall Festival planning group. Limvere called the event a community-wide Thanksgiving.
