The Great Plains Food Bank, a program of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, received $5,000 from Dakota Plains Cooperative and a $5,000 match grant from the Land O Lakes Foundation, providing food for 40,000 meals to children, families and seniors struggling with hunger in southeast North Dakota.
As part of a Bayer CropScience initiative called Farm to Feed the World, Bayer CropScience donated $2,560 to the Feeding America Great Plains food bank. The donation continues the program that works to decrease hunger in the face of a growing worldwide population.
Like many institutions across the country, charitable organizations are taking a hit, and few have offered bailout plans for the people needing it most.
Organizations in Jamestown are not exempt.
