The Associated Press reports that a pastor at an Ohio church met for dinner with the owner of a strip club that members of his congregation have, for years, been protesting against. The club owner and... Posted on 8/23/10 at 10:58 AM
NORTH DAKOTA OUTDOORS AND BEYOND the future of trapping
We trap rabbits in the backyard. My son, daughter and I. Essentially it's learning about the habits, food, shelter and patterns of rabbits. The food the like---broccoli---we use for bait. I was fortun... Posted on 8/20/10 at 11:42 AM
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — John Fox turned around a floundering franchise before. The Denver Broncos are counting on him to do it again.
Fox was picked over four other candidates to replace Josh McDaniels, who was fired Dec. 6 amid the Broncos’ worst slide in four decades and the embarrassing Spygate II videotaping scandal.
NEW YORK (AP) — News Corp.'s Fox and Cablevision said Saturday they were returning to the negotiating table in an effort to end a programming deal impasse that could deprive some 3 million cable subscribers of baseball playoff and football games in the New York and Philadelphia areas.
Fox will offer extended post-race coverage of NASCAR with an online program beginning this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
The Overdrive on FoxSports.com will begin immediately after the network ends its broadcast coverage of Sunday’s Sprint Cup race. The program will use Fox’s entire nine-person broadcasting crew and consist of live interviews and analysis that will be streamed to its Web site.
This past week Fox News, specifically Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, have railed against President Barack Obama and his health care policy. Hannity warned that we should check how often “this liberal President” uses the words “social justice.” If social justice issues make me a liberal Democrat, then I’m proud to be a liberal Democrat. Our churches have always promoted social justice.
Should Fox News register with the State Department as a foreign agent — an agent of Saudi Arabia?
First off, is that a farfetched question? Not when a leading member of the ruling family of the Sharia-totalitarian “kingdom” of Saudi Arabia, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, has made himself the second-largest shareholder of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., Fox News’ parent company.

Red foxes used to be plentiful east of the Missouri River in North Dakota when I was growing up in the 1950s and ‘60s, but during the last few decades coyotes have displaced foxes on the landscape. I have read that foxes hunt a smaller area more intensely than does a coyote, so this may be advantageous to game birds and other prey pursued by these predators.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Fox television network and Time Warner Cable reached a programming deal in principle on Friday, after leaving millions of people in the lurch about whether they'd be able to see an anticipated college football matchup and other shows on cable TV.
World Series television ratings bounced back from last year’s record lows.
The Yankees’ six-game victory over the Phillies on Fox averaged an 11.7 rating and 19 share. That’s the highest since a 15.8/26 in 2004, when the Red Sox swept the Cardinals to end an 86-year championship drought.
Surely President Barack Obama and his advisors don’t really think that their feud with Fox News will do anything but enhance the cable network’s viewership. A deeper problem is what the flap over Fox reveals about Team Obama: They still seem to be more comfortable with campaigning than governing.

Glenn Beck was mad. He’s the right-wing talk-radio host who has a television program on the Fox News Channel. Advertisers were fleeing his Fox program en masse after the civil-rights group Color of Change mounted a campaign urging advertisers to boycott Beck, who labeled President Barack Obama a “racist.” As the campaign progressed, Beck began his attacks against Van Jones. Jones was appointed by Obama in March to be special adviser for green jobs. He co-founded Color of Change four years ago. After weeks of attacks from Beck, Jones resigned his position at the White House last Sunday.

Officials in Montana plan to transplant about 30 swift foxes to the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in an effort to boost fox numbers by linking populations of the small predator in Canada, South Dakota and Wyoming.
The foxes will be captured from areas near Whitewater and Chinook in north-central Montana and moved to the reservation in eastern Montana next month.
