A change to a decades-old tradition means instant gratification for Girl Scout cookie fans.
Gone are the days when customers filled out colorful order forms, waited and ultimately received their delectable desserts after weeks of anticipation.
This year, the Girl Scouts have launched “Cookies Now” — putting the treats directly in the girls’ hands as they make their annual sales in local communities.
No waiting involved.

The season for sales of cookies by Girl Scouts — Dakota Horizons has begun and Scouts in the Jamestown area will raise money with the program.
The Scouts will be selling eight varieties of cookies, including the most popular, Thin Mints, and a new Belgian-style caramelized cookie called the “Shout Out.”
The Jamestown Girl Scouts held a Bridging and Court of Awards on April 25 at St Paul’s Methodist Church. This ceremony recognized all 13 Girl Scout troops in Jamestown. Seven of these troops bridged over to the next level of scouting.
