Letter to the editor: Take back the power by putting God first

It’s well over a year since President Barack Obama was sworn in as president, yet he and Vice President Joe Biden are still blaming all that went wrong on President George W. Bush. I doubt any president ever took office finding a clean slate. One of Obama’s concerns, Social Security and Medicare, may not be solvent much longer. Bailing out the rich bankers could have gone a long way for business start-ups and jobs — then find all paying into both as before.

Letter to the editor: Trust in God to get us through the financial crisis

On April 2, a letter to the editor appeared in The Jamestown Sun written by Ellen Linderman, and in that letter she gave glowing praise to Sen. Byron Dorgan for voting against certain deregulations of “big investment banks and Wall Street gamblers.” Linderman said “most senators and congressmen can’t understand credit default swaps and all the other complex schemes of these financiers anyway.”

Letter to the editor: Our leaders must respect God if they want success

My last letter was returned by The Jamestown Sun’s Assistant Editor Logan C. Adams, stating I made accusations that cannot be backed up with evidence concerning the economic crisis as part of a plan to force the world under the yoke of a “one-world government.” He recommended I focus on the main issue of abortion. Well abortion and the new world order are all part of President Barack Obama’s package.

Lloyd Omdahl’s most recent column titled “Defiance is not the way of Christians” gives a very critical evaluation of the efforts of the Alliance Defense Fund. A brief examination of Christian civil disobedience may lead your readers to a different conclusion. Contrary to Omdahl’s assertion, confrontational defiance of government authority is scriptural. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego followed their conscience rather than the edicts of Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar. John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded for confronting King Herod about his duplicity.
