One of the most challenging parts of this job is when you get back from a really good game, and have to sit down at your computer and try to do it justice.
If you saw something that stands out, you obviously want the story to follow suit.
So imagine trying to do someone’s life justice. Not just anyone either, a person held in the highest regard by so many.
That was the task here on Wednesday with the passing of Rollie Greeno, who died at a hospital in Fargo on Tuesday night. Greeno, who taught and coached at Jamestown College for 37 years, was 83 years old. His funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Civic Center.
“One of a kind” was the familiar refrain among family, friends and former athletes of legendary Jamestown College coach Rollie Greeno on Wednesday.
Greeno, who spent 37 years coaching and teaching at the school, died on Tuesday night at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit in Fargo. He was 83.
Dan Greeno earned NCAA Division III All-American honors at the national cross country meet on Saturday in Hanover, Ind.
The Bethel University (Minn.) junior earned All-America status for the second straight season, finishing 33rd in the national meet in a time of 24:59.46, which was nearly seven seconds better than his time at the national meet the previous season.
Dan Greeno of Bethel College (Minn.) has qualified for the NCAA Division II national cross country meet.
Greeno, a junior, finished second in the regional meet, turning in a time of 25:35.9 in the 8,000-meter race. He earned his second straight trip to the national meet.
