If an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, then, in the case of weapons in North Dakota, less than $100 paid for a concealed carry permit is worth a $2,000 fine, a year in prison or both.
Well, it’s definitely the cheaper of the two.

I was surprised the universal background check bill did not pass the Senate as it would help to reduce gun violence, and, if passed, would be the foundation for further legislation. I support this bill.

As Heidi Heitkamp eked out a North Dakota Senate race decided by less than 3,000 votes last year, one topic that rarely came up was gun rights. Now that Heitkamp is a freshman senator in Washington, an issue that once hardly registered has quickly become a defining one.
