A suburban Philadelphia businessman who strangled a company intern after the man resisted a rape attempt should get life without parole, a jury decided Monday.
Prosecutors had sought the death penalty for William Smithson, 43, of Glen Mills.
A businessman who frequently hosted gay sex parties in his home drugged a company intern, tried to rape him and then strangled him when the 23-year-old victim awoke and tried to fight off the attack, a prosecutor said Monday.
