The Blue Jays will play for a trip to state today.
After dropping its opening game to Bismarck Century, Jamestown High School defeated Turtle Mountain 14-2 in loser-out play at the West Region softball tournament at Hillcrest on Thursday.

Demons nip Jays

The Jamestown High School senior drilled a double to the gap in the top of the seventh, but Bismarck High’s Nate Dinga put a cap on a two-hit shutout by forcing a foul out to first base in the Demons’ 1-0 win Friday at Memorial Ballpark.

Jays win opener
It was a gut reaction by Tyler Ukestad, but it meant everything to the Jamestown High School baseball team on Thursday night.
Ukestad hurdled Mandan catcher Trever Leingang on his way to scoring his team’s second run during a four-run fourth inning. Landon Weiser followed with a two-run single as the third-seeded Blue Jays topped sixth-seeded Mandan 4-1 in the opening round of the West Region tournament at Veterans Memorial Ballpark.
