Strong start for JC women

Amy Fearnside, Tiffany Sluik and Christina Zamora are into the national semifinals at the WCWA meet in Bristol, Tenn. The three semifinalists topped a big day for the Jimmie women’s wrestling team in Bristol, Tenn. Jamestown College is fourth overall, trailing only host King College, Lindenwood and defending national champion Oklahoma City.

Perleberg’s enjoyed Jamestown soccer ride

Ross Perleberg has seen the highs and lows of soccer in Jamestown. Whether it be wearing Blue and White or Black and Orange, the former Blue Jay and current Jimmie has seen about everything soccer-wise in Jamestown. “It’s been interesting, both the good and bad,” said Perleberg, the lone Jamestown product on the national-tournament bound Jimmies. “I have a lot of memories that I’ll be able to look back on when I’m older and when I’m done playing, and most of them are good ones.”

Hopes high for No. 22 Jimmie men Year 2 is off to a smooth start for Jamestown College men’s basketball coach Matt Murken. That’s not to say the first year was bumpy or rocky, because it was not. Murken led the Jimmies to a 21-9 record and expectations are high again in and outside the program.

Jimmies impressive in home-opener

Jimmies impressive in home-opener Home debuts at the Civic Center went quite nicely for the Jimmies this week. Greg Ulland and his young JC women’s squad got their first win of the season with an impressive 78-71 win over Mount Marty, S.D., Friday night, two days after the Jimmie men beat Division II Minnesota-Crookston. It was a very encouraging performance for Ulland’s team, who played 14 girls, 11 of whom scored.
