What started at the end of last April ended on the beginning of September Thursday night.
The Jamestown Education Association and the Jamestown Public School Board reached an agreement Thursday night on teachers’ contracts for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years.
Two figures were incorrect in a story titled “JPS negotiations” on A1 in Thursday’s Sun. The Jamestown Public School Board’s contributions to health insurance since 2005 have increased 14.3 percent, while the cost increase for Jamestown Public Schools has increased 25.5 percent for the same time.
The wheels continue to turn within the Jamestown Public School District concerning the future of the athletics programs.
The community met for the second time Wednesday night in the Thompson Community Room at Jamestown Middle School to continue to search for solutions regarding success in the Jamestown Public Schools athletic programs.
Coaches, parents and high school students alike showed support for a suggestion to improve athletic achievement at Jamestown Public Schools.
Jon Hegerle, volleyball coach at Jamestown College, said the district should do more to provide opportunities for athletes to excel at the Jamestown School Board’s regular meeting Tuesday.
